Branding of the condominiums
Metal Shutter Houses in NYC by Shigeru Ban

FOR DBOX NEW YORK / Design Director
TEAM: Johnny Petley / Judy Hsu / Mark Gleghorn / Martin Solarte

Award-winning branding of the Metal Shutter Houses. The block of seven two-story apartments situated in New York was envisioned by international recognized architect Shigeru Ban. To create sensitivity for the architects’ use of unusual components for his projects, all printed collateral materials were screen printed on craft paper, one of Ban’s trademark materials. The marketing brochure is a flipbook where a virtual tour across a Metal Shutter loft expanse explains the functionality of the shutters and space. The idea of using craft paper was also translated to the website. The content unfolds on the opening screen to a navigable poster.

To create sensitivity for the architects unique combination of purism and modernism, all printed collateral materials were almost purely typographic and screen printed with just white color on craft paper, one of Shigeru Ban’s trademark materials.
